Where we are?
Many parts of southern Chile are relatively unpopulated and thus filled
with unprecedented natural beauty. When travelling from Santiago on
the Panamericana, one first drives through a region filled with
vineyards and then through farm and cattle country.
For orientation purposes enlarge the following map of Region IX, also called Araucanía.

Temuco, with its 300 000 inhabitants and native influence, is also
surrounded by fertile countryside. It lies approximately six hours by
car or one hour by plane south of Santiago. Temuco is situated exactly
between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes mountain range.
Curacautín lies eighty kilometres east of Temuco in direction of the mountains.
This small rural community is largely inhabited by farmers, traders,
and people working for the tourist industry. Curacautín is situated
approximately 55 km from the nearest highway exit and is the perfect
starting point for adventurous tourists.
From Curacautín, volcanoes, thermal springs, crystal clear lakes, ancient Araukarien forests, national parks and the magnificent Andes are within reach.
La Suizandina lies a mere 28 km east of Curacautín on the paved road (at km 83) towards Argentina.
