The Suizandina Team

Throughout the year the managers are here to attend and provide you the best service possible. The reception, maintenance, house keeping and kitchen teams do their utmost to make your stay an unforgettable one. In the high season our team is supported by young tourism professionals in order to offer a more personalized service for every one of our guests.

Tom is the founder of the Suizandina. Having been in charge for more than twelve years, he now takes a passive role in the organization. He now lives in Switzerland with his two sons.

Ivana and Sergio are the managers of the Suizandina. Ivana is in charge in certain parts of the management, as well as the further development of our horsing outdoor activities. Projects in the making are horseback riding as well as wellness. Sergio manages administration, finances, marketing, but he also is in charge of winter sports (being skiing, cross country and alpine touring) and not to forget summer sports as well (being mountain biking, hiking and trekking in the volcanic region).

At the end of 2009 our daughter Clarita was born. She is already a big fan of nature and animals.

Ivana is half Swiss and half Chilean. Born in Zurich, Switzerland, she now has been living together with Sergio in Chile for several years. She studied physiotherapy at the University of Zurich and specialized herself in kinesiology at the University of Chile in Santiago. With horses being her favorite hobby, she has intensified herself with this subject over the years. She is well known as a horse tamer, teacher for horseback riding, competitor in “Reining Horses”, and before she moved to Araucanía Andina she was as well working as a tour guide for full-moon rides (in Chile called "Lunadas") in ‘La Dehesa’ in Santiago.

Sergio was born and raised in Santiago de Chile, but has also lived some years in Italy and Switzerland. He earned his MBA in business management at the University IEDE, and studied commercial engineering at the University de Las Americas. He gained his experiences as part of the management in great retail companies, and now he dedicates all of what he has learned to the Suizandina. He is also a co-owner and one of the founders of the Ecohostel in Santiago.

Julio maintains all of the infrastructure and surroundings of the Suizandina, and also takes care of over 50 ha of forest which surround the Suizandina.

Ingrid (Chilean) and Oliver (German) are responsible in the kitchen for the mouth watering dishes which we serve.

Leonor (Chilean) takes care of the housekeeping in all of our installations.

Noa (French) is in charge of the Snowkite-School and the bike- and kayak rental. If you like to experience the beautiful nature of the Araucania in a sporty way he is the guy who will take you on exciting trips.
