Dear visitors of the La Suizandina website,

Since Monday, 1th of March, our offer acts to 100 % again.
Initial defiles of energy and confinements during the first days, directly after the earthquake, are remedied.

Generally our region is not affected like areas around the epicenter, more northern.
In spite of, there are impacts:
The communication is confined, sometimes the telephone line and current are broken, there is only little petrol and you have to wait long time in a queue for getting 10 liters.

Partially streets are spoilt, bridges, public or private buildings need to be controlled.
To get from A to B you have to make detours. Fewer buses are driving, tickets are more expensive; but flying might be possible these days.

We still notice little trembles, several times the day. These are not dangerous, up to now, but they leave a weird feeling.

All things considered, life normalizes here, but not in the badly affected regions.
Victims are still recovered. Clearances are in progress.

This Friday and Saturday the donating day for the victims takes place in Chili.

La Suizandina newly offers for rent the Cabaña Techo Verde, a whole vacation house totally equipped for up to six persons. It has a kitchen, bathroom, three bedrooms and a wonderful, cosy living room. Please see more info on: Rooms.

La Suizandina is a hostel with 34 beds and a cabaña as well as a restaurant.

Our small paradise lies amidst unique nature, embedded between the Conguillo national park with its volcano Llaima, the Tolhuaca national park as well as the national reserve Malalcahuello-Nalcas with the volcano Lonquimay.

In our surroundings you can make wonderful mountain tours, hikings, bike-trails or take a relaxing swim in the nearby thermal baths. During winter (from July to September) the ski center Corralco on the foot of the Lonquimay offers you wide and non-crowded slopes or you can start snow-shoeing directly in front of La Suizandina.

Feel at home at the northern tip of Patagonia - even far away from home. La Suizandina welcomes you with a cozy atmosphere and offers energizing sleep, good food and a wealth of information for activities into the Araucania region. In a nutshell, our offer according to European standards and is unbeatable for individuals or groups travelling in Chile.
